Suspenion is CRAP!!!! ROCKY RIDE LIKE HELL

ok its probably due to my 225/40/18 tires and my stock Mcpherson struts with Tein S Techs but the evo rides like a old civic with blown struts. i think the struts have been bottomed out too many times and from having 400lbs worth of passengers in the car almost daily that the car rides like CRAp. NO comfort. So im looking into coilovers then fatter tires. What else is there i need to look for? i heard of a bump stop kit that increases comfort. whats the price on these and who sell sthem? Which coilovers are best bang for buck? i heard omnipowers are good ones. my car will be for daily driving and occasional autoX

Go back to 45 aspec ratio tires. Gruppe said the rest. If you want soft and comfy get a foam pad for your seat.

Your car can have a more comfortable ride than when it roled out of the factory and be at a lower ride height. oh an handle better.

In general and especially for Central Cali, I'd recommend more tire. Gotta protect those 18's, yo!

I thought the 03 Evo struts were KYB?

Almost 100% sure they are when I looked at mine they said KYB on them

And your stock struts are probably blown from dropping the car + OEM struts.

Yup! The struts are made by KYB.

well i have the S-techs on mine and i think that the car rides just as good as stock with way less body roll. i dont think that your problem is the springs. if it is i would be suprised

actually it most likely is the spring because i knew the S techs would ruin my struts but only reason i did so is because i was supposed to have coilovers by now. So now i plan to buy Tein Flex and get fatter tires. What tires u recommend for California streets. im on 225/40/18s. Would 240/45/18 be ok? is 240 too big? maybe 235

first and foremost, get the tires sorted properly....that is all ride quality and overall handling right there.

Once that is sorted out, post the results and we can go from there.

I would recommend the hotchkis springs if you want a better ride. you don't need to go with the coilovers just to improve ride quality. I noticed a moderate improvement in the small bumps in the notorious michigan roads after installation. my .02
