Only downside to the Falken RT-615 is the full tread depth is only 8/32". Most other tires that you are comparing them to are 10/32" tread depth. The deeper tread causes the tires to squirm more until they have worn down some. It would be interesting to see some of the other UHP tires from other companies compete with Falkens at an equal tread depth. This could be why the steering response is soo good on the RT-615's.
This is something to consider if you are looking to have these tires a long time. A tire is technically bald at 2/32" tread depth, so with the RT-615 you only have 6/32 of an inch to wear until the tire is toast.
Please dont take me wrong, I wanted the RT-615, but the fact that the tread is so shallow to begin with shyed me away. I dont want to get new tires that quckly. If you dont care about tire life, the RT615 seems like an awesome tire and a good/equal replacement for the Advans at a reduced cost.
I am gonna try the T1-R in a 255/40/17 on my 17 x 9 FNO1RCs. Cant wait to get them heat cylcled and scrubbed in a little, to see how they handle. I hope I am not too disappointed in the Dry handling and steering response.

That size tire is too tall for some lowered cars. I know someone else who had rubbing issues with H techs and BFG KD's in the 245/45/17. The best size to go with is a 255/40/17 if you are lowered. That tire maybe slightly too wide for the stock wheel though.
