Falken AZenis RT-615 vs. Kumho Ecsta MX vs. Nitto 555 extreme.

Ok, i'm stuck. Here are the break down.

245/45/17

Falken AZenis RT-615 - $160 per tire - 200 A/A (Y - up to 188mph) - $640**

Kumho Ecsta MX - $140 per tire - 220 AA*/A (W - up to 169mph) - $560**

Nitto 555 extreme - $110 per tire - 300 A/A (ZR - 150mph and up) - $440**

* Best possible rating for wet traction.
** price before mount and balance.

Ok, which one are you going with?

Falken RT-615's are the sheot!. Make sure you get them in 255/40-17 The 45's in the falkens are a little tall, and the 40 series is closest to stock. The grip is as good as the stock advans, they run quiet on the road, and the turn-in is very sharp. I love them.

I highly reccomend the ST115 Azenis, the RT615 is an awesome tire but wet handling sucks.

I have the 245/40/18 Kumho MX's. Compared to the 046, they do not have the crisp turn-in response like the 046, but the MX's are very predictable and can hold more heat without falling off. There is a tire test in the latest Grassroots motorsports that places the MX last out of 5 tires tested (AutoX). It also has the RT-615 listed as 1st. This is from 2 seperate drivers, same day, same car. However, it is the best bang for the buck tire and it meets my expectations for a tire that will last me half the racing season.

good stuff.

So nobody likes the Nitto?

I'm still getting decent time with my kumho AS(uck)X tires, but just imagine what my time will be if I get some decent tires that doesn't loose control all over the track?

Go Falken, I've seen Kuhmo's delaminate at the track, and people on Falkens were fine. The Kuhmo's don't handle heat as well as the new Azenis's

He is talking about our shop STI.

Admitting that we are very hard on tires here. We had a kumho seperate on the track.

We have since switched to RT-615 and have noticed a increase in performance. We have not been able to test these ones but do have high hope for them
