Anyone try Hankook Ventus S1 evo K107 tires yet?
Like the title says, has anyone tried the Hankook Ventus S1 evo K107 tires yet? I was wondering how they stack up against other UHP ~280 treadwear rating tires like the Toyo Proxes T1-S & T1-R, and the Hankook Ventus Sport K104. I'm looking for some tires that I won't shred after 10K miles but still give reasonably good grip and turn-in in a 265/35/18 size.
And if your only thought is "Hankook are cheap screw that go with X company because they are more expensive" or "Go with this R compound they stick better" then I don't really want to read what you have to say. I am perfectly happy with my current Falken Azenis Sport RT-615 tire as far as performance, but I'm honestly tired of running that sticky of a tire on the street because they wear so fast. I figure I'll trade a little sidewall stiffness and grip for longevity and rain performance, and hopefully regain at least some of the reduced turn-in and grip with a wider, lower profile size. So I've decided my new street wheel is going to be 18x9.5 wrapped in a mid-range UHP 265/35/18 tire. Then, I can wrap my stock wheels in some R compounds for the track, Probably Yokohama A032R H compound so they last a whole season of track days.
Thanks,
