uneven brake pad wear???
i just changed my front pads and rotors...
i couldn't help noticing that the inside pad on the drivers side was worn down to the metal, while the other 3 front pads were only half gone...
is this normal???

yeah...is there a way to check if a cars pads are wearing out? the brakes only squeak when i press on the break lightly and coming to a slow slow stop...if i break hard then it doesnt squeak. I took a look at the pads and it still has some more before the metal

is worn down to like 5%, when the other 3 is only about at 30%.
Design flaw?

I think it maybe a design flaw. My brake pedal was vibrating under high speed braking so I changed my pads and noticed the same uneven wear.
Replace your pads as soon as you notice them worn. It will save your rotor.

Just changed my brake pads this weekend. Front passenger inside pad is down to metal, but the outside pad has at least 20% left. All the other other corners have pretty even wear with at least 20%.

I am getting ready to change mine and noticed the same thing the inner pads are wore more than the outer. The funny thing is the back right inner pad seems to the worst out of all of them. I was wondering if it was just me or what.

as everyone esle has posted, the inside rears wear out a lot faster than the rest. just pop the driver's side rear wheel off once a month and give it a look-see through the caliper.
as for our pads being expensive... buy different pads. better and cheaper. its a miracle.

the rears don't necessarily wear faster than the fronts. but if you are in a certain type of traffic a lot then that can be the case because the rears engage in very light braking situations, when all my brakes were squeeking from being low i tested it and it's like barely touching the pedal will engage only the rear brakes. but i disagree with saying that the rears wear faster because my front pads were grinding (inside pads of course) and my rears were only squeeling.
i think it's all about what kinda traffic you see most, or what kinda driving you're doin'. for dailys i'm sure rears are almost always gonna go out first. i think the left foot braking i was doing is what destroyed my fronts so quickly.
