Zeal Functions V6 CO installed, review n thoughts

I got these installed, aligned corner weighted at Eurotire in NJ, was a 5 hr job. I have the 12/10kg springs on these co.

Both front and back are on the softest setting as of now and the ride is pretty good when the car is moving past 5mph it absorbs the bumps pretty well, I had the car lowered about 1 1/8 " front and .75" back , the turn in on these CO are improved over stock, handling is improved during highway sweepers, the general feel of the handling is definitly improved reduced bodyroll, nice n flat turn ins.however it feels a little bouncy especially going real slow below 5mph on bumps/speedbumps etc...It its not back breaking bouncy but its more of a soft bouncy feeling.

I was wondering if anyone is knowledgable about Coilovers can comment on the bounciness and the dampening settings.. Both front back are on 1 (softest) would turning up the stiffness make it less bouncy? or would it just make it hard but still bouncy? before I bought these I read this was no poko stick feel coilovers however the way it bounces during slow bumps kinda does feel pogoy.

Does anyone Know the stock spring rates for the Evo MR ??? Its to my understanding that stiffenin up the back will induce more oversteer, do most of you keep the front stiffer or back stiffer?

overall I am pleased w these coilovers, I just kinda wish I can get rid of the bounciness a little, I will mess with dampening settings wish the front adjustable is on top rather then on the bottom, I just got a 2ton lift and 2 jack stands just so I can get under the car to adjust it.

with high spring rates and soft damping setting would cause the car to feel bouncy. go to a higher damping setting and that should help. i had 5 levels on my zero 2R and anything below 3 was bouncy.

good call on the zeals. thats what i will end up with, cusco was nice but zeal seems to be on top right now. out of curiousity what numbers did you end up with on your coner balance? what tire pressures and fuel level were you at?

I have my Zeal V6 set at 3 in the front, 4 in rear on street and 4/5 on track. I found this particular setup work quite well for me. However, I like my susp very stiff even on the street so I am not sure if it’s suitable for you. Since the spring rate is so high, I would recommend you to dial the dampening a little bit high, maybe 2 and 3 to reduce understeering problem.

Thanks,
Tom

thanks for the inputs now I understand better....I changed it to 2/1 tonight to test it out a little bit.....it helps with the bouncyness on slow bumps which is good, however one thing though...when taking fast turns on the highway if the turn is not entirely smooth...it makes the car bounce....it feels a little unsafe like the bounce can kinda throw u off u know.....so I think i will try 2/2 and then 2/3 to see how it feels....the roads here are pretty crappy here but I rather have a stiffer ride than to bounce around during a turn! lol even though I felt it bounce I still took that turn faster than before =)

Im not sure about the corner balance weights , Tire pressure at the time of install as a bit low 34/33? now its 35/35, I only have the alignment measurements in hand , the tank was about 3/4 full, I dont know much about alignment but heres the number that eurotire set me up w/ if anyone is interested

FRONT:
camber L: -1.27 , R: -1.33
Cross camber 0.06
Caster L: 3.32, R: 3.49
Cross caster: -0.17
Toe: L: 0, R: .01
Total toe: .02
Set Back .14

REAR:
Camber: L: -1.26, R: -1.26
Toe: .09, .09

also hand written below....can someone tell me what it means? im thinkin something w/springs ?

L R
F 990 994

R 614 607 3205 Total

left front 990 lb right front 994 lb
left rear 614 lb, right rear 607 lb, total weight of car 3205
aka corner weight.

I did not know the front weighted so much.

is this what you had a question about?

Were you (or someone of similar size) in the car when they were corner weighting it?

Those numbers are your corner weights in lbs.

If I remember correctly, I think mine is about the same weight.

Thanks,
Tom
