The designation we sell says exactly that, A046D. They are produced in Japan, have a UTQG rating of 160 A A, begin life at 9/32 tread depth, and have a 93W service description. Its the exact version as the OE tire. Internal construction is 2 steel belts, 2 nylon ply sidewall with an extra nylon band of reinforcement (what gives such great steering response). I'll fwd your concerns for the dual name onto my Yoko rep. As soon as I know something I'll post it.

Thanks for your question regarding the Mitsubishi EVO 8 OE tire.
There is only one A046 tire available in the USA and that is the DOT approved A046D.

What are the differences (treadwear, overall diameter, weight) about A046 vs A046D?

I went in many places around the world and anyone could answer this question...

My car is a JDM Evo 7 with two A046 and two A046D, I really need the answer.

I believe the only difference between the two is that the A046D has a slightly harder compound.
