Works Rally MR Ride Springs review!
Well, seeing as how I've never really seen any other reviews of springs for the MR, other than the swifts, I'll post one of my experience with my new Works Rally MR Ride Springs.
First, remember, that because of the Bilstens, the spring selection is very, very slim for true springs, mated for the Bilstens. They have a different spring rate, and completely different part number, than the springs for the normal Evo. I've also read in a lot of places, to use normal Evo springs on the MR's Bilstens is bad, if not even harmful, due to the differences in the struts. So anyways, your selections are really cut down into either the Works Rally MR Ride Springs, or the Swift springs.
I chose to go with the Works, due to knowing how quality of a product they produce. I'm happy to say, I think I made the right choice.
The Works springs basically lower the car 7/8" all the way around, maintaining the same rake as factory. The springs are approximately 20% stiffer, but a progressive spring, becoming harder the more you compress it.
Here's the before/after pics of the front of the car to give you an idea:
So, you can obviously tell the difference, but it in no way drops it as far as something like the S-Techs or whatever. I think the drop makes it look just right.
In a performance standpoint, the ride is simply STUNNING now. It's SMOOTHER, not softer, but smoother. As most of you know, there always seems to be an oscillation while driving the car over bumps. These springs just seem to smoothen everything out, while still maintaining a softer ride over the normal Evo springs/struts. The Bilsten shocks are simply just amazing now.
In a handling regard, I can now take corners 10-20mph faster than I could before, all with the same tires and so on. The car seems to have a LOT less body roll now as well.
Overall, I think they're a great spring. This is the way that the MR should have come from the factory, in regards to handling and look. Maybe a tad on the pricey side, but like I always say, you get what you pay for. Thanks Jamie and everyone at Works Rally!

I think you should be ok, the back tire would tuck under the fender anyways.

go with works if you want progressive...and swift if you want linear. both have good reviews, says a lot considering how "lowering" springs typically suck. at least with the evo we get better struts than the impreza(glad i made switch).
