Aftermarket Rotors better than OEM??

i was wondering if its worth it to replace the factory rotors? is there a performance advantage when replacing with aftermarket rotors? i need to do a brake upgrade and will probably get hawk hps pads and goodrich ss lines w/motul 600 fluid.

the rotors im looking at so far are the Racing Brake slotted and performance friction slotted. if rotors are recommended, which ones should i choose? any other brands/styles that people recommend? please post helpful information. thanks!

Unless you're racing competitively, replacing problem rotors, or really need the "bling" factor of some slotted rotors (avoid drilled), I'd just burn through the stockers first. I've been using Carbotech XP-8 pads which are a bit hard on the rotors and the OEM rotors have held up well.

My OEM rotors have seen 37K of hard use including quite a few track days and they will last out the current set of pads. Since I won't be driving the car this winter I'll swap in new pads and rotors next spring.

One thing to remember with high performance aftermarket pads is that they will usually either wear very fast or be much harder on your rotors than an OEM style pad.
