Tire Wear

Tire Wear
Ok so I just noticed that on the passenger side of the car the tires are wearing on the inside and are almost bald, the outside of the tire is fine, and the driver side is fine. I have not changed any of the suspension or any thing like that. It is happening on the front and rear tires. The car is not pulling so it does not feel like the alignment. Any one else have this problem or heard about this.
Thanks

Have you lowered your car or changed any settings to your stock suspension? When was the last time you had an alignment. Your car can go relatively straight, w/o massive pulling, eventhough your alignment is off and you wouldn't even know it.

I actually noticed almost this same thing on my car yesterday while changing the oil. Both of the front tires have major tire wear they only have 10K on them so it's about time for new one's but I'm gonna call the dealer and see if they'll fix the alignment.

all 4 of my stock tires were like this. about 2 inches of the inside tread worn bald, with proper rotation and 16500 mile on them. it's normal. i got 4 new advans when the rest of the tire balded out, had them aligned and the alignment was within the specs. it wears due to the negative camber set from the factory (viewing from front of car, top of tire tilts in toward car). if the evo didn't have this negative camber, it wouldn't be able to corner so well.

negative camber puts more pressure of the front end on the inner portion of the tire, which causes it to wear faster due to the load its under. just like if you don't put enough air in a tire the inner and outer portion of a tire wears faster. if you put too much air in, the middle of the tire will wear faster.
from a website - "Camber plays a large role in determining both the overall handling feel of a vehicle and how a tire wears across its treadface. A tire wears most at the point(s) where the majority of the vehicle's load rests. A properly set camber maximizes a tire's contact patch, leading to even wear. Excessive negative or positive camber has an adverse effect on treadlife by causing premature outer or inner shoulder wear."

Thanks to all,
No i have not touched the stock suspention at all, and the car has 10,400 miles on it now, so it might be time for a new set of times. But i just find it strange that they only wore on that one side, if it was the camber it would have expected all four tires to wear since it is the same on all four.

This is exactly what happened to mine. Passenger side front inside shoulder bald. I discovered it during an oil change. They had 17100 miles on them. Back tires are still good though for another 2000 miles or so
