Soft brakes after install SS brake lines and bleed

I just installed some Works SS brake lines and bleed all the old brake fluid out and replaced it with Super ATE Blue, but now my brakes are softer than they were before

I bled the system untill all the old fluid was out (was able to tell this by the color of the fluid coming out), then I started the car, tested the brakes, soft, then rebled again but the rebleeding didnt release any more air so I just put the tires back and tested out the car, brakes are softer now

I followed http://joe250.com.hosting.domaindire...brakebleed.htm for the bleed

any ideas?

A couple of thoughts>

1. The motor was running when you bled the brakes, right? It has to be running.

2. You are absolutely sure that the brake fluid reservoire never got too low, right? If you get air into the master cylender you are hosed. It can be deceptive because the clutch fluid reservoire is part of the brake fluid reservoire.

I never had my engine running when I bled my brakes.

you shouldn't have a mush pedal if you didn't have your engine on... but you might have pushed your pads around while you were doing stuff and then didn't have the car on so the pistons didn't reposition the pad all the way and then when you first started up the pistons fell into place with the first application of brakes. just rebleed, so it with the car on... if you do it with the car on you cycle the stuff in the pump... so... yeah. it won't take as long... just a few pumps here and there.

My car wasn't on when I bled the brakes, going to re-bleed again, but I also read somewhere that the clutch line would also have to be bled but I have no idea where that clutch bleeder nipple is, anyone know?

the clutch bleed nipple is on the master cylinder for the clutch, it is a black cylinder that is made of cast iron, has a few solid metal lines running into it. easy to see if you are looking from under the car. it right next to the lower corner of the stock battery. if you don't have a stock battery then it is "above" your intake if you are looking from under the car and above means towards the cabin.
