Hawk HPS pads suck....what's a good alternative?

I currently run the Hawk HPS pads and they squeal like a *****! They squeal so bad at times, I just park the stupid car and drive my jeep. Is there any other pads out there that do not squeal?

Wait, so you are saying that the pads suck because they make noise?

Have you tried them out on a track or anything?

EBC Green Stuff Pads never made any noise for me and work great! They are a light track - Street pad. I really like EBC products

sounds like the pads might not have been broken in properly, there are several techniques for breaking in new pads, maybe try some of those techniques and see if that helps.

IMHO, many, if not all of the complaints about the HPS pads squealing has to do with improper installation, or to be more specific, improper lubircation the backing plates and contact points on the caliper. My HPS pad squealed at first, but I regreased/applied anit-squel and now there is no noise. I am still going 20,000+ miles on these pads without a problem. They will squeal at the track though, but not much at all on the streets.

^ +1

My HPS pads almost never squeal, even with the new brake air ducting (keeps the pads colder/dirtier on the street) they still hardly ever squeal. Anti-squeal is your friend, and hopefully you remembered to save and reinstall the backing plates from the stock pads.

OK, all jokes aside. They stop the car yes, but the squealing and constant glazing over on the rotors is what I'm pissed about. I work for Acura and do all my own installations. The brake pad install isn't the issue. I re-surfaced the rotors, moly-coated the pads and shims as well as the clips and they were fine for about 2 months. On the track, I expect the squealing and squeal they do, trust me. When just driving through traffic, the squealing occurs and it's frickin' annoying. BTW, I'd like to receive educated answers instead of responses like, "try WD40.........". Thanks to Travman for the EBC comments. That's what I might change to.

Also, as you can tell by my sig., I'm not new to working on my cars. Not trying to be a smarta$$ here, but stupid comments deserve stupid rebuttals.
