Front tires balding unevenly

I'm having a problem...I purchased a brand new evo back in september and now 3K miles later BOTH front tires have worn out pretty bad. The inner side of my front driverside tire is balding at a faster pace (car pulls to the right a LITTLE when i drive), it barley has any thread left.

I'm pretty sure I have an alignment problem so I guess I'm going to take it to the dealer to be serviced and so they could check out my tires.

Has anyone experienced this? would they even consider paying for new tires??

Normal and the price you pay for the super sticky tires. they are supposed to last for 5-10K. DEPENDS on the driving. mine lasted 16K. I guess you drove harder than me!

I also heard the alignment is off bad on these cars! Check alignment.

Yeah it's the way the negative camber is set on the Evo, But mine did last 14k have you AutoX or tracked your Evo, If not it may be from the factory your car was set up with too much negative camber. Sounds like you need new tires when you get them have do an alignment if you use another shop like I did you might end up with the same problem with someone not knowing the correct settings and all. When I had my first Evo when I curbed the left front tire and got a new alignment from Big 10 tires and they Fu*ked it up and I had to take it back to to fix it because they did not know the correct camber settings. Good luck

shouldn't be that bad a 3k. I drive my evo so hard and my tires at 7500 miles still looked really good. It does sound like and alignment problem though if your tires are waring that uneven. That or your roads are really really bad.

We all get uneven wear for the most part. If you rotate your tires often they won't be as bad.

toe kills tires alot faster than negative camber. your toe settings are probably out of spec, mine was way off on my 05.

Kris- Where did you get your evo aligned at? Once I get new tires I need to get it done.

This issue IS NOT related to camber. It's related to the vehicle's toe settings.

I'm giving the guy some credit. He has to know that the stock advans are directional.

Man....people on this site don't cut others any slack. I have a question about tires and I am sure I will get flamed by someone for some violation but here goes.

My fronts are also wearing unevenly and I need to replace them. The stock Advan tires are awesome but are difficult to find in my area for some reason. I wouldn't mind replacing all 4 tires with another brand but I do not want to loose the performance of the Advans.

I did search the archives and google but couldn't find anything on a good tire alternative for the Evo.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

thanks

Pete
