Crap, I was hoping I could get away with the 17X9.5 and the 275/40s. If not on the RPF-1, since Robi doesn't recommend those due to spoke flex anyway, any idea of the 17@9.5 +44 NT03 will work/fit with the 275/40 V710s? I am on that mag cover, but I didn't get paid, haha, so I'd like to avoid 18" rims and 18" tires if I can. You said the 275/40 will also rub on the 17X9 RPF-1s? The 17X9 was my original choice, but I wasn't sure how much of the contact patch was sacrificed with only a 9" rim. Agh, trying to get this all figured out is a headache, but at least I have plenty of time before next season.

I don't care if I have 355s on all 4 corners, I don't think I can compete with Tunnell. He beat all of SM here at the Denver Nationals by 4s, with his wife being 2nd a full 2s behind him. 3rd place was our LOCAL 1ST PLACE SEASON LEADER a whole 4 seconds back. He usually beats me by almost a full second, even though I'm 2nd place overall, so that shows you how ridiculous Tunnell is, although I'm sure you already knew...

I'd at least like to be competitive for 1st in my Region after finally upgrading the suspension (Vishnu Ohlins or RobiSpec KWs) and adding some real meat (275s or 285s on 17s or 18s). Plus, I'm trying to have a good setup for NASA Time Trials now that I've graduated to HPDE4. I will probably only run the V710s on the road course when it counts and do my RT-615s for practice and HPDE sessions so I don't eat the V710s up too quickly...

275's on a 17X9+35 can be made to clear in all aspects with the right camber and ride height settings in the front, but these settings may turn out to be a compromise between clearance and performance. Also, you will sacrifice a bit on contact on the 9 instead of the 9.5.

Swordfish is right, a 9" is a little narrow for a 275, a 9.5 or 10" would be better. I had the 9" originally for 255s. I have 17x10 CCWs from another car, but never fit them because the 285-18s came out, and that's the way I would go for a r compund class tire.

Although my car was faster due to the ProSolo drag format, Tunnell still beat me by a tenth or so a couple of months ago.

. Look at the rear fender. Why go to such extremes just to run wider rims . Not worth it.
