tanabe sustec pro seven coilovers
is anyone running these>?? I"m trying to find more info on them. I"m looking for a good coilover for my autox evo. THe car is mainly used for autox so street comfort isn't really and issue. I do drive it on the street, but its not everyday. I currently have the tanabe gf210s on my stock shocks and have been real impressed with them. I am looking for something better though to make the car handle better. Any info out there on these? They seem to be priced nicley for what they offer.

I just received my set today. They'll go on the car sometime next week. I'll do a write up after everything is finished. The pieces seem nicely put together and I got a great price.

I can't really discuss the price...based on how much I actually paid and my agreement with my vendor. If anyone wants a set I may be able to point you in the right direction. That review on the nasioc forum is really helpful, but what worries me is the short suspension travel discussed in that thread. Hopefully Tanabe's made some improvements since november and the setup for the evo will be a bit different. We'll just have to wait and see.

There is some info from Tanabe:
"The Sustec Pro SEVEN for the EVO is a completely different suspension
from the suspension design for the WRX. The internal valving, stroke
length, and compression and rebound characteristics are all different.
The SEVEN for the WRX is a short stroke suspension design, and more
Motorsports oriented. The SEVEN for the EVO has a longer suspension
stroke and travel, and can allow for a wider range of driving
applications."

I just got mine installed yesterday. Here are my initial impressions. I was a bit concerned when I first saw these coilovers in person because the spring length seemed too short and with a 12k/10k setup I was afraid of a very jarring ride. However, after setting it on the softest setting the car rides very nice. The setup is surprisingly well dampened. It absorbs bumps very nicely and has reduced body roll significantly and in the end the ride doesn't feel at all worse than stock. I really haven't had time yet to really run the car yet on any other settings. Hopefully I'll have some time to today to stiffen the settings and drive a bit more.
