Evo8 Suspension rattle/shimmy???
Well I dont really know how to explain this but my front suspension seems kinda loose? Its like if i go over a bump the suspension will take it up but then has some rattle to it on the rebound?
It dosnt feel loose at speed, but just has this rattle to it going over bumps,,,,, like 5mph and upto like 25 or so I can hear and feel it.
Its kinda like a ....da da da da....then settles back down.
I dont know if its play or what it could be.
Taking it to the dealer next week. Its just kinda hard to explain in words. It is more of a feeling thing.
Anoyone have anything like this,,,,,, or does anyone have a clue what Im trying to convey? What could be the possible problem.
38,000 on an 03 Evo.
Thanks.

I'm hearing a noise from the front suspension also. Sounds similar to what you described. I only hear it at low speeds. My car only has 8700 miles!
I already took it to the Mitsu dealer and thay couldn't reproduce the sound or find anything wrong. I suspect a loose sway bar.

Yeah, check the swaybar mount on the control arm and also the bushings were the bar is mounted in the center. My car had "squirted" the bushing out on the left center mount and made some really agravating noises. Took about 10 minutes to fix and all seems well now.

Follow up....... I had a loose tiebar nut. The one next to the downpipe. Thought that was the problem. Everything seemed fine and then the rattle/ looseness came back.
The Mechanic said it could be the front swaybar bushings? And said everthing thing else looked tight. I was under the car with him for about 15 mins.
At low speeds you can hear it and more feel it through the floor and wheel.
Maybe the shocks?
The car drives good and straight as an arrow. Il do some more searching, but anyone else have an idea, or do you have anything like this going on with your evo?
Thanks!!!!
