I assume getting new stock pads are out of the question? The dealer wanted $1,000 for new front and rear brake pads are they really that expensive? Which aftermarket brake pads are good? I'm looking for something that stops better than stock, lasts longer, and something thats under $1,000. Thanks for the help!
Here are some Hawk HPS for $100 front and $80 rear.

I just installed my Hawk HPS but didnt peel the shim off the old pads. The hawk pads have a shim on them too, but its not the same material as the stock ones. I did put a nice coat of anti seize on the pads at all the right spots. They were noisy as hell at first but after two days of driving they seem to have quieted down. Now all I have is this dragging noise coming from the left front side. I cant figure out what it is. I am going to give it a week and see if the pads will wear into the rotors.

I love the DS2500s... I think they are among, if not the best Evo street pads money can buy. I can't wait for them to get a fitment for my Legacy LGT so I can ditch these crappy Carbotechs.
Anyone wanting to know why I like the DS2500s so much can run a search with "DS2500" and and "Zeus". I've posted enough on the subject to make me blue in the face...
