How is the quality of these rim companies?

Of course I want Volks or Advans but I can't afford them now. I was looking online and in import magazines and saw these brands, does anyone know how good the quality of these rim companies are?

- Tenzo (seems like makes Volk look alikes)
- G-racing
- R-1
- Axis
- ADR

I assume for rims you look for strength and lightweight.

I like my Privat rims but they have road rash on them so I'm debating between just getting new rims or repairing mine and powdercoating or painting them black.

They are all reputable brands. Tenzo and Axis have their own thing though. R-1 and ADR like to copy other wheels designs. Personally I like Axis the best out of what you are looking. You might want to consider the new Axis Decade. They are design to have a staggered lip with out the staggered tire sizes or the Axis Revrbs or Hiro's

IMHO Axis would be the only brand that I would go with out of that list

the better question is how many of those firms actually offer wheels that will fit - my guess is that list will quickly be narrowed to 1 or 2 companies based on fitment alone

Why not wait and save up some money and get something you really want like Volks or Advans? For me its worth the wait and you get to roll with something that will put a colgate smile on your face... why bother spending money on something your not really going to be happy with? thats what I would do... the stock rims are probably worth more than the ones you mentioned... dont spend money and downgrade!

If you want affordable, strong, relatively light, and assured fitment look at Rota. They make grwat stuff that the Subie guys seem to love. Wish they offered more Evo fitments.

Please do not buy rice rims like those companies you just mentioned they will absolutely not do your EVO justice. The Enkei's are probably lighter, stronger, and higher quality than those companies products. If you really want rims save up and buy some Volks, Work, Advan, or SSR, like Derek8888 said. No point in buying replicas when you could buy the real thing.

The problem is I have put buying off tires for over a year, I am literally riding on slicks now. I need tires asap. I cannot wait any longer, otherwise I would.

I just got a quote for $125 a wheel to fix the road rash and powder coat the 5 stars black to match my car, they powdercoat at 350 degrees. Is 350 degrees considered low temp coating?

Who cares if they are replicas...Its not your car. I'm aware of them except R1 and G-Racing...They will be perfectly suitable for a street car. Obviously, for a race evo then considering a high quality forging....but for the street, it doesnt matter nearly as much.

Axis has a good reputation and their forging process is identical to enkei's. I remember seeing somewhere that eneki and axis do have some kind of partnership in the manufacturing of the wheels
