Possible to repair scraped wheels?
[FONT=Verdana]I managed to drift into a curb going around a local backstreet, and now my stock wheels have a moderately deep scrape.
(The left side front and rear)
The rear can be filled, sanded, polished and repainted based on a 'how-to' in this forum... but I'm not sure the same can be done with the first.
It runs about half-way around the front wheel, and is at the deepest points about 1/16". Fortunately there are no chunks taken out - just a scrape.
They are perfectly functional, none of the strength or structure is compromised - just cosmetic. Is it possible to get them 'corrected' ?
Also, not sure if the stock tires are ok to use. Both the front and the rear tires have small chunks taken out of them. I replaced both the wheels and the tires, so the damaged ones are sitting at home - just wondering about costs of repair.
Thanks!

Wheels America does a great job with repair and refinishing. I recently had them refinish my SSR Comps in gloss black. They have a chain of stores and one is located in NY. They charge a flat fee of $129 per wheel. Their process begins with putting the wheel on the machine to check to see if the wheel is true. Then depending on the severity of the damage (which in your case is very minimal) the wheel gets put on another machine which grinds a minute layer of metal off the lip so that it is smooth and flush again. The wheel then is prepped and repainted. WAH-LAH...brand new wheel.

They should be able to be repaired. Go to a local tire store and they will know someone
that repairs rims. (when they mess up a customer they have to have someone bail them
out).

White works, really depends on the car. They are real pain in the *** to maintain though.
I would definitely not go paint some stock wheels white. OEM color matches best for OEM wheels.
