i'd have to agree with you there. i don't own, and haven't driven an evo, but from what i've seen in person, and heard, those tires were most definitely NOT for use in snow or offroad. hell, they are practically racing slicks, with only a 10K miles expectancy. i'd try to find some cheap tires with better wet grip.

Didn't your dealer tell you that you would need different tires for snow (winter driving)? I know I also had a sticker on the driver's side door that said do not drive with the original tires in snow (winter)......

Well what about that sticker you peeled off your driver's door and tossed over your shoulder like your last parking ticket:

Yeah it's technically not winter anymore but I wish someone would tell mother nature that... sooooo ready for better weather.

The tires are performance "summer" tires and does not work well on snow.
This doesnt mean your Evo sucks in snow, dumbass.

Get some winter tires and your Evo will rock in snow.

Umm... looking at the EVO's stock tire should tell you its a "summer tire" not "all-season/weather". Most sports coupe and sport sedans come stock with summer tire not "all-season/weather".

Why dont you just get a set of high performance all seasons on an extra set of wheels like SP SPORT 5000 ($129 @ Tirerack) or Sumitomo HTR+ ($104 @ Tirerack) thus your not losing the performance and ride quality of using a winter tire, and they do pretty well in the snow!

All-season tires are a compromise and then your Evo will not perform as well as it could because the summer tires are much better than the all-season.

This is a pain though, because each winter you have to swap out the tires or buy a different set of wheels/tires. It can get really expensive . . .

Luckily, they didnt release the Evo in the winter or late autumn otherwise, there would be a lot of crashed cars.

Please tell me you where not using the stock summer tires in the snow. If you were, then what do you expect?

Well, my point was, your going to get more performance out of a Ultra High Performance All Season over a Strictly Winter tire that cost the same price, so why not just go for the tire that is still sporty yet, good snow traction.

You won't be disappointed with the LM-22s. As far as snow tires go, they are a good compromise for dry winter roads and snow.
