I replaced my Falken 512's with Proxes 4. The 512 handle much better in the snow, I found myself slipping more on the 4’s in the snow. I had so much more confidence in the snow with the 512’s, I was really surprised @ how poor the traction was in the 4’s. The 4’s are a better handling tire and more responsive on the dry pavement plus I only got 17,000 miles out of the 512’s.

I'd either get the Zero Nero's or the Ectsa ASX's...The Zero's handle a bit better but arent quite as good in the snow. Forget the rest of the tires. Toyo Proxes 4 are absolute garbage and the Continentals handle like non performance tires but do very well in the snow.

Im about to get a set of tires for the evo. Im on the fence and like to see your inputs on either toyos proxes 4 or sumitomo htr III? I called and the lowest prices for sumi's are $550 and toyos are $700 I want the toyos because I have had them before and seem great. I never had sumi's but might go with the sumis of the price.

Another interesting tire that came out a year or so ago is the new Goodyear Eagle GT. Its about a pound heavier than the Proxes 4, but has more tread and is supposed to be a very good all around tire.
