Best All Season Tires?
So it's time for tires again and I am considering going with all season tires again. I had the Kuhmos and I can't complain about them, but I was curious to see what you guys thought. What is the best all season tire for the Evo?

Lots of people run Conti's. I've had them on my last 2 cars. Tirerack has them - Continential Conti Extreme Contact or something is the long name. Neal was recommending them a lot back in '03.
They had better wet traction than the stockers had I think. I was running them year-round on my slightly modded '03 Evo w/o any traction issues. I used them in the snow too.
My .02.

Different strokes for different folks. The Conti Extreme is a popular one for those who drive the tire year round. Great snow traction but sort of lacks in the summer months. Another top performer is the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M/S. Great dry traction and steering response, light to minimal snow traction. I'd also consider the Avon M550 A/S.

Nothing better than the original Advans AO46 that came with the car. A bit exspensive though. I researched on the internet and finally chose the Toyo T1R tire and the bought the Toyo Proxes4. I had Yokohama ES100 before and they were good until you got half way through the treadwear and then you had a little tire noise, but not too bad. treadwear on these were 240 and on the Toyos are 300. I have had them now 2 weeks and are very happy with them. Speed rating on these tires are W(up to 147mph).Check EdgeRacing.com for these and other tires. Has the lowest prices around, even with shipping. Good luck. I forgot these tires are Ultra High Performance All Season tires.

I like the Proxes 4 as a daily driver tire. This is my third set that I have run (Impreza, Civic and now EVO), and around here in the rain and sometimes snow, they do really well. They obviously arent a track tire but they work good for what they are for, Driving.

I have the Yokohama ES100's right now and the tire noise is terrible. I thought something was wrong with my car because I've never heard tire noise that loud. I took it to the dealer and looked like an idiot because it was just the tires. I think I'm going to go back to the Advans.

I run the Continential contact extremes during the winter and then change back to the A046's. The Continential contact extremes are good in the winter, but suck in the summer.

Doesn't exist. No such thing as good all season tires, only tires that are mediocre in all conditions. Best move to make with a car like this is to get a dedicated set of max performance summer and a set of snow tires (or rain tires depending on where you live). Worth every penny. I won’t comment on snow tires, but for summer/rain tires, I’ve got experience (good) with Bridgestone Potenza S-03’s, ADVAN 046’s (who doesn’t), ADVAN neova’s (fantastic) and Toyo RA-1’s (good rain tire at full depth).

I have the Avon M550s and they are a great tire for the money. They have about 80% of the performance of the OEMs, 50% of the cost and twice the lifespan. Not a bad trade off.
I spend 90% of my time in normal driving conditions so I don't see the point of having expensive, low tread life tires on my car. Just my .02.
