WOW!! just wow

Okay here it goes...

I have a brand new 05 that I bought back in september. For some odd reason my 2 front tires were balding very unevenly at only 4k miles. I took the car to the dealership and after trying to hassle them to replace my tires they finally agreed that they would pay for one tire and I would have to pay for the other one...so I agreed. It took the damn dealership about 1 month to order the tires and about 2 more weeks for them to arrive. So when they finally get there i pay a visit to the dealership and after sitting there for 4 hours (due to the alignment machine not working) I get my car back.

Now two weeks later i take a look at my back tires and both of them are COMPLETELY bald...so im like ok WTF!??!? and I check my air pressure and ALL 4 tires where at 40 PSI. The front are supposed to be at 32 and the back at 29.

looks like the dealership over-inflated my tires and they wore off in a matter of days.....now its going to be a damn mission trying to get them to replace my rear tires because of their stupid mistake...

when i took delivery of my car the tires had over 50lbs of air in them. So I believe anything at this point when it comes to the dealer.

Where are the tires worn? I daily drive on my autocross tire pressures (~40 PSI on crappy Fuzion ZRis). Overinflation can cause excessive wear across the middle portion of the tire, but it won't happen in a matter of days unless you are rolling on ridiculous amounts of air pressure. If your wear is on the inner or outer tread blocks, it is more likely a result of out-of-spec or overly aggressive toe settings.

you wore out your tires in a couple of days? Even if your tires were over inflated, that shouldn't have happened.

I agree it might be an alignment issue.

How many miles did you drive and how did you drive them? Where were the tires bald? All over?

Prolly be best to eat it and take the car to a proper alignment shop. Running 40psi will not destroy tires like that...it's really not a terrible PSI to run in general.

Dealership probably didn't put new tires on at all and just rotated your bad fronts to the rear hoping you wouldn't notice....

I drove about 200 miles (2 weeks) since i got the car back from the dealership and Ive been doing just regular daily driving....no speeding/racing. The tires are bald all over but there is a tiny amount of thread left on like the left side of the tire so I guess it isnt all even.

Yeah you probably do deserve them but good luck. A full set of tires is nearly $1k and I bet they will fight you to the death on paying for that.
