So are the '06's peeling too? or did they (*gasp*) actually fix them since they first started peeling in '03?

This is rediculous why are the calipers blistering? I know for a fact that the STi's as well as the brembos ont he G35's or 350Z's havent had this porblem...Could it be something to do with the paint being different than the gold???

it has to do with brake fluid bleeding on the calipers during maintenence, and the clear coat is what's affected, not the actual paint.

Several people here have said that theirs started bleeding w/out ever loosening the bleeder screws, so I'm not sure if it's really brake fluid or not.

Since it hasn't happened to hardly any 04 and later cars, I personally think that Brembo had a manufacturing or material quality problem during '03 that they've since fixed.

I took mine right up to max madsen mitsubishi right up by my house in Aurora Il. They told me they would call me back on the matter as soon as he talked to who was ever in charge of handeling these thing's. A little while later that day, maybe two hours or so they called me back and told me no problem they already ordered the calipers on all four corners and they will install them as soon as they get them next week. This will all be covered under mitsu warenty, and this is no lie. I have a 03 mitsu evo 8 with 17000 miles and they covered. I will port proof as soon as it is done and I have the paper work.

Almost every 03 Evo I've ever SEEN has had that pealing problem. They should replace them. I have like the one 03' that doesn't have the pealing or pink thing going on.

My two friends, one with an '03 and and one with an '05MR, neither have any peeling. My '03 is peeling like a bad sunburn.

The rep in Wisconsin said he wanted to come out, and said they were peeling because i sprayed a rim cleaner on my rims and it got on the caliper and it caused the peeling. WTF!! water and a rag is some serious stuff you know.

Then my service mgr. is awesome and he said that it was better the rep didn't come out here because of my mods the rep would void my warranty in a heartbeat, my service guy wants to keep my warranty w/out the rep knowing i have mods, i think thats pretty cool.

That is a different issue, the clear coat will begin to bubble and peel after heating up the calipers. This rarely happens with normal street driving, but get out on a track for some hot laps, and the peeling begins...

I have never had my bleeders off. No brake fluid leaking anywhere on the caliper. But I still have pink calipers all around. I dont think brake fluid is the cause!

I think it's got something to do with the clearcoat. The paint itself turns dark red or black when used hard. And the clear starts to peel after that.

to end all discussion it all depends on the service rep. when i talked to mine not only did he tell me that it was break fluid from when the breaks were bled(breaks were never bled) but he also accused me of using an abrasize material on my wing and thats y the clear was comming off that. i fought with him but i got nowhere.

also i have a print out directly from my dealships computer saying and picturing that when carbon fiber is made, tiny air bubbles get cought in the weave. they surface after awhile causing the clearcoat to chip/peel.

so if i were u, i would deal with it yourself. get some clear and hit them up.

I went to 2 dealers and they both denied me. I also call up mitsui and they said it was a cosmetic problem that is not covered. I think this will be my first and last Mitsubishi. I love the Evo but there service is the worst inmy area that is.
