Y rating versus Z rating
What is the difference between a Y rated and Z rated tire? Specifically:
1.) Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 255/35ZR-18 XL 94Y B (discounttire)
2.) Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 255/35 YR18 94Y XL (tirerack)
Also what is the difference between a 94Y and 97Y rating? (e.g. difference between the 255 and 265 sizes)

the 94 and 97 reflect the tires load rating and the Yand Z reflect the speed rating.http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=35

No. Z rates any tire capable of 149+mph. W and Y fall under the Z rating and designate how fast a tire can go above 149mph. W rates a tire up to 168 and Y is up to 186.
