Hmm..
I don't know what I will end up doing, I really like the J8's but I guess if they will hurt my performance that much its kinda a waste to buy this car in the first place if I'm not going to be going to shows with it (which I won't).

I think the 19's would look the best if u are going with a polished lip. I compared at set of 18" work emotion CRs(no polished lip) to a set of 19" J8s(polished lip) when mounted on Evo's. They looked the same size.

Yea a rim with a polished lip will always look smaller then a rim where the spokes go all the way to the edge. Reason being is your eye stops at where the spokes end and you dont see the extra 1" of lip ... thats why SSR Professors look so small because the have a step lip and the step makes it look even smaller.

just get them, it seems to me that you're just trying to convince yourself that they won't affect performance much. I take it you don't really care for track times in that case I think 19s will be fine. Though I think you gotta have the width to match if you're gonna go w/ 19s... 19x10 or something.

Well I mean, I don't go to the track as of now, but if you look on the side, you will see I don't drive a car anybody would bring to a track
so who knows, maybe i'll end up going to the track once I get the Evo. The reason I am asking about the rims ahead of time is, I am thinking about saving 2k from my downpayment and buying rims.

The thing is, I might end up going to the track, but I also am a very aggressive driver, on the roads, taking turns at higher speeds, and acceling / decceling do you guys think it will make a difference?

I have J8's on my evo. After switching back to stocks, then back to the 19's, what a difference!!! I really love the feeling of my Racing Harts compaired to the stock Enkies.
It's a night and day difference. Cars feels better, rides, drives better. I really couldnt tell performance wise. On the freeway the cars really pulls alot stronger with the 19's. I have also run consistant 12.2's and 1.7 60fts with traps of 113, 114 , 115. I have 19,430 miles on my 2005 Evolution VIII with a stock clutch.

This was my 2003 Evo.....

Wow! thanks for the review...
So you actually liked the performance better with the 19's on? That's odd, I don't think too many people on this forum will agree with you

How much do your 19" rims weight? The J8's are 25lbs or more.

I def like the J8's more then any other rim, but I guess I will try to find more 19" rims that I like that maybe are gonna weight a bit less then the J8's.

Which 19's did you have?

I'm thinkin about gettin the MR w/ Apperance Package in TB, what color rims do you think I should go with? I was thinking gunmetal if the J8's but if not I was thinking of a nice shiney black rim.

What you think?
