Enkei GTC 01 - new?

Just found this: http://www.enkei.co.jp/p_detail_gtc01.html

Looks like a new wheel to me. If you click on 'WHEELS' on one of the menubars and click on GTC01 again, a pop-up comes up. It's in Japanese but if you keep going by clicking on 'next section' it looks pretty interesting. Hollow spokes and strangely two valves. I guess they're trying to make it look like an F1 wheel. Don't know if it offers any advantage.

What I don't get is the 'anti-slip' paint. WTF? Is this so the weights actually stay on? I have this problem with my Volks TE37...

Anyway, what I'm after is photos of anyone with a set of these... anyone?

Thanks in advance...

2 valve design is for Nitrogen filling. Add nitrogen to one while purging the air from the other. I don't think it's hollow spoke though, it's a cast wheel and those spokes just don't look large enough to be hollow. The "Pocket" design refers to the web like structure between the spokes as I see it.

Hold on a sec, so how would you fill a tyre on a 'normal' wheel with Nitrogen?

I do rather think the spokes are hollow (or part of the spoke anyway) it's all a bit strange with all the Japanese-English. I'll look again when I actually have a reasonable internet connection (at home).

Also, something that's also new is that their other new wheels are now JIC approved whereas they weren't before.

Nice wheel. We need to find out what sizes fit the Evo.

I believe they have 3 sizes that will fit the evo.
18x9 +40 offset (I think that will clear the calipers)
18x8.5 +35 offset
18x8.5 +30 offset (probably what most people would recommend, I think).

I believe those are the numbers that I saw on the Japanese website.

Recommended size for the evo (according to their site):

17×8.5(35)235/45R17
and
18×8.5(30)235/40R18

Not bad, EVO Nathan...

I wonder how bright the finish is? I don't really like the mirror finish...

I looked at some of the pictures on the Enkei Jap site. They have a picture of them on a white 350z. They really dont look that bright. Even then, for the price I would send them off to be powdercoated gunmetal

Now, I am surious as to how they will look. They do look an aweful lot like the OZ superleggas. I believe somebody with a black evo has superleggas on his car. So, search for that, and it should give you a pretty good idea.

Or we could ask one of our local PhotoChop experts?
