I AutoXed with them Sunday. Don't have much basis for comparison as it was my first event, but once I got the pressures dialed it was great. Very smooth, sticky, predictable and controllable in all wheel slides. Donour was there and suggested I run lower tire pressures. Anything below 44psi front made my sidewalls rub alot. 44psi front, 42 rear seemed to work well, but is probably the minimum you would want to run them from what I can tell. (hot pressures) It worked well enough to place me second in SM at my first event ever. But that was entirely because of the small group and competition/what they were driving, and the fact that Evos are just fast, NOT me!

I hope these tires kick a$$ because I just oredered a set. $504 shipped sure beats $976 for AO-46s. That alone makes them better. And on the street, even when pushing really hard I dont see how these can be much worse than the stockers. From everything I've read they seem to be one of the best tires for the dollar. I guess I'll find out in 2 days

update: weekend before last i drove these from santa fe, nm to denver, co, to boulder, co, in the rain almost the entire way, then up to rocky mountain national park, then back down, street driving in every city all over, and still daily driving them. so it's been about 3k miles in every possibly condition besides snow, which i won't try if i can help it.
i am not dissapointed with te tire's performance in any way at all, and can't wait to run them at the next autox again.
the only weird thing is that they are not directional? the shoulder grooves go one way on the drivers side, and look right, and the other way on the passenger side (backwards)

I'm thinking about these now as well. Rain won't be an issue as I plan to get another daily driver....
Would 255/40 be my best bet on a 17x8.5 +40 (rpf1's) I'm still running stock suspension but plan to move to coilovers soon.

What size do most people run on stock rims? I opted for 245/45R17 as the extra 4.5mm shouldnt hinder acceleration to any noticeable amount and I felt 255 was too wide for an 8 inch wheel. I finally get my car after work today and will get to begin the scrubbin'!

My thoughts on these tires are this. As good as the AO-46? No. Damn close? Yes. Is it worth paying 50% off for about 5% of the performance loss? Well that's up to you but I would think any sane person would say hell yeah! Especially the way we all go through tires. I give the RT-615 a 9 out of 10!!! These will be on my car from now on as far as street tires go.
