It's better to stuff the fenders with a stretched a tire over a wide rim, than to run a fat tire on a narrow rim.

If you kept the same +38mm offset as stock, for the simplicity of this explanation, then you would be splitting the difference between the two sizes. For example, in the rim lip area you'd be adding .75" to the fender side and .75" at the strut side. For the widest part of the sidewall area, the section width, you'd be adding .7" to the fender side and .7" to the strut side (10.8 - 9.4 / 2 = .7"). For the tread width area you'd be adding .6" to the inside and outside (9.8 - 8.6 / 2 = .6"). Going from a 235 width to a 265 width in this brand of tire, you're only increasing the tread width 1.2" and if you're splitting it evenly by going with the same +38mm offset as stock, you're only adding slightly over a half of an inch of tread width at the outside edge where the tire meets the fender area.....as well as the strut side. I think with this brand's 265 width, you could easily get away with a 9" wide rim instead of a 9.5" which would help in the reducing weight department. If you compare the specs on the Tire Rack between the stock tires and these you will see that the New RE050A pole positions match the cornering and steering response of the A046"s and exceed the A046 in dry handling. As far as treadwear, comfort, noise, wet handling and hydroplaning, the New RE050A Pole Positions blow the stock ADVAN A046"s AWAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and they are also cheaper too. I am currently researching the lightest 18 x 9 wheels that I like.

My suspension is currently the MR stock Bilsteins with the BBS rims. I only plan to run the Swift lowering springs and possibly their swaybars along with some of the Whiteline bushings. I am currently looking into Prodrive GC-05F 18 x 9.5 +36mm offset, ADVAN Kreuzer Series V 18 x 9 +38mm offset and JIC J-Force 05 18 x 9.5 +38mm offset. I am waiting to find out the weights of these rims and will probably go with the lightest in reference to price. The only down side to going to 265 from the stock 235 is the stock tires weigh only 25lbs due to their size and 9/32th tread and the 265's weigh 28lbs......that 3 extra pounds has to be reduced by getting a lighter rim than the stock BBS at 18.3. I need a 15.3 lb rim to keep the new set-up as light as the stock MR set-up. I think the Swift springs save a few pounds at each corner, but I don't know if this is the same equivalent as keeping the rims as light.

Nobody I have talked to knows anything about the JIC's
The Advans should be easy to get, but are cast.
The Volk CE-28n's will be as light as any of those and will be forged instead of cast, plus A-Spec products usually keeps the 17x9 in stock.

I am sort of looking for a traditional slim 5 spoke design that is light, strong, affordable, looks good and is easier to clean than my BBS wheels. I know I have my work cut out for me, but maybe I'll end up with a rim that not too many people have that looks hot!

I'm running a Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 265/35-18 on my 18x9.5 wheels with a 37 offset. They are a perfect fit for that width wheel. I'm running Swift springs on the MR Bilsteins. I haven't rolled the fenders yet, but I have not experienced any rubbing yet. Just waiting to find time.

This is great information to hear! This confirms some of my research. How is the ride quality with this set-up? Does the car have a greater steam roller effect in the ruts on the highway with the larger tires? What is the weight of your new set-up, wheels and tires versus the original? If your new set-up is heavier than the stock, do you think the lighter Swift springs helped to reduce the unsprung weight and make it feel as light and responsive as the Bilstein/BBS set-up? Any info in great detail of the before and after would be appreciated as well as suspension settings before and after the Swifts. Thanks!! For your info, the Tire Rack actually recommended a 9" rim for that 265/35/18 Pirelli P Zero Rossi as they run even smaller than the New Pole Positions I am looking to buy.
