Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit?

I noticed I had a brake dragging (front passenger) and the Mitsu dealer confirmed it. Unfortunately I'm at 3 years and 3 weeks on the car (out of warranty). I am at 33K with original pads. They are telling me I need a new brake caliper at a cost of over $1500.

Is there a rebuild kit for this I can use? Anyone have the part number??

If Mitsu pays I'm all in favor of the whole caliper. If not any alternatives for a cheaper fix??

As per the Brembo guy that posts here, the factory calipers are not meant to be rebuilt. Once you undo the bolts that hold them together, they will never go back properly.

You may be able to send them to Brembo for the work?

I'll check for parts...problem is it's getting almost un-driveable so time is getting difficult.

Stoptech big brake kit, more brake less money and you can sell your spare to subsidize the transaction...Look into Wilwoods too...I think a whole brake kit, front and back, could be had for less than the quote for the Brembo.

To do a seal rebuild kit, you should never have to separate the caliper...

He is right. You don't have to disassemple the caliper to do a rebuild. The seals and piston are removed without taking the caliper. Probably not the same procedure since its a different style caliper, but this will help you get the idea:
