Those coils on the rear springs are there to keep the spring seated at full droop....kinda like a helper spring on a coilover. They don't make the spring behave progressively, just keep it seated. Plenty of travel in the main portion of the spring too, more then the damper so no full coilbind.

I don't mean to be all up in your internetS stealin' your pikturz, but I cut back the links to pics of the final springs that you posted and I found these:





I guess these are more pics of what the car looks like on these springs, eh? Looks pretty good if that's the case. I have a white IX that is on silver VIII wheels with stock Advans. I'm glad to see pics of what the car will look like on VIII wheels. The height looks good. Not slammed and not high-riding like the stock springs. It looks like a great compromise, expecially if the performance is there they way you say it is. I'm gonna try to put my springs on ASAP and give a write-up about my experiences with the RCE springs vs the Skunk2 springs (not my choice! they were on the car when I bought it!!!!!) currently on the car.

I'll be posting soon with before and after pics...
