I have run both Toyo RA1s and Advan Neovas at the track, multiple times. Same car, identical (SSR Comp 17 X 8.5) wheels, and the same size (255/40/17).
The Advans have excellent turn in and can be driven surprisingly fast at the track. They did however heat up and lose grip after several hot laps. No chunking though. They also just don't have the grip of the Toyo. I seem to be able to go 1-2 seconds faster on a 2 mile track with the Toyos.
I would say the Advans are a great street tire and a good track tire (especially when not driven hard). The toyos just stick wonderfully at the track once worn a bit, but I wouldn't personally ever need to run them on the street.
