Which has "lower" stance? Coilovers or Tein "S" techs?

Hey, I found this "shiny" ruler, and was bored, so here are the results: My front end is just "pushed" on, was doing work on it, but the lower lip is correct. His car (yellow) is actually LOWER than mine on coilovers are. Of course, you have to remember that the S-tech's sit about a half inch lower in the fronts than they do in the rear

hope that helps.

Both of these cars have actual photoshoots done, so if you want to see clean photos, I have those too. :banana1:

I agree Tein springs are not the hot ticket. Their coil overs are OK but, their springs on factory struts are NG.

I had the H.Techs on my first Evo and while they are a different rate and drop than the S.Techs they were horrible and I cant imagine the STechs being much if any better. They killed the struts in about 3,000 miles. I didn't realize how much the ride and handling degraded until I got my second Evo. It was a night and day difference.

I've got Eibachs on this one and like them much better. It's getting close to coilover time though after almost 40,000 miles on them.

Smoke,

I'm sure you can adjust your coilovers lower than the springs but, you probably don't want to. Travel doesn't hurt mechanical grip.

I had the "S" techs and took them off, you really cant beat the stock set-up, but the HIGH speed corners are best suited for the Coilovers in my opinion.

It looks like Jim missed his medications again today
You never have anything nice/positive/constructive to say, you just pollute threads.

You will blow the bilsteins very quickly with the s-techs. If you spend the money for bilsteins spend the money on good springs.

I actually have alot of nice things to say, but its hard to be nice when people do such stupid things.
IF your gonna buy a 30k car that is built to handle great like the evos are, then dont go cheap and buy crappy springs that actually hurt the handling capabilities and ruin the struts.
And you can beat the stock set-up, put on some actual good quality springs such as espelier or swifts.

Well that only applies now if you have a MR. So those without the MR (Bilstein) shocks. Then Tein Ss are an alternative.

Kevin - I like the new front lip (old one with color tape?). Nice color off set.

I bet they blow the regular evo struts rather quickly too.

Hey Smikey, does the tape make me look faster? Where is my "draft?"

I understand this, most get the "springs" for the "dropped" look, and not for a performance standpoint, but you are correct, they WILL ruin the struts, and the handling will BLOW!! Mine did, and I swapped them out before the struts went. I agree with you. we see eye to eye on this one.
