Suspension: EVO IV vs V vs VI??
OK, here is the deal, I would like to know what is the difference b/t these three generations.
I know EVO V have a wider track compared to the EVO IV. However, is it just the difference in using wider tires with more negative offsets? Or the control arms are also changed?
In addition, EVO VI has lower center of gravity compared to the V. What exactly did they changed to achieve this? Some tuning companies offers EVO V's components for the VI's owner to "upgrade" back to the EVO V's spec, does that mean EVO V drives "better"?
And my last question is, which generation you consider to be the best handler OR most fun to drive in you word.
Thanks in advance

Never heard of that. Can you explain who offers this? Sounds strange.
The best handler is the one with the best suspensions and least weight. The 7 is a lot stiffer (body shell) than the previous models but the engine is a little weaker and the car heavier, or maybe just the latter.

By your definition, the EVO VI TM RS2 should be the best then??? I have only driven the EVO V once in HK, amazed with the monsterous acceleration and grip....still feel chill down my spine thinking about that experience.

Ok I am sure someone's gonna tell me different but.......... I believe the EVO 6 TME uses the Evo 5 front suspension setup / components. So maybe the 5 is the better setup ??????????

No, there definetely no recycling of Evo 5 suspension parts, cause they are made out of steel and with the 6 they changed to aluminium, making them lighter. The TME has different lower arms to my knowledge, but they are also aluminium.

As Michael said, the lower front assembly differs between the TME and the standard VI. On the standard VI it's a two piece design, on the TME a single piece arm. Can't say anything about the V though.
