1 month old evo, front suspension clunks/feels lose on mild bumps
It handles fine, but on any mild to large bump in the road, the front suspension feels like it gets lose and clunks around.. is this NORMAL or should i take it to the vampires?

i have the exact same problem. half the time my clunk noise seems to be spring binding in the front strut assembly. the other half the time i have no idea. it seems to happen in mine, mostly when the wheel is turned towards the right and at low speed
so far i have had it to mitsu about 8 times. they haven't been able to fix it totally. they have replaced the front sway bar end link, and the strut mount bearing. the new strut mount breaing really seemed to help the spring binding, but the front passenger side suspension still sounds noisy and loose over bumps at slow speed.
i wish i could offer more help, but all i can really tell you is that it is an annoying little gremlin, that i have had for a while, and so far doesn't seem to have hurt anything. i am planning on dropping my car off at mitsu, AGAIN, sometime next month. i doubt they will find anything wrong, but if they do i will certainly post it.
my advice is to take it to the dealer soon, and keep taking it there, even if they can't fix it. just to make sure the problem is well documented, incase anything breaks due to it down the line. hopefully the history of unsuccesful service work will keep me from getting any hassle should something fail.

Ive got this same problem also. Mine sounds like its coming from the rear driver side wheel. I pulled the wheel off checked all the bolts to make sure they were fine and checked the axle for cracks, leaks, too much play. Everything seemed fine there. It also happens when im just sitting there idling. Not all the time just when i sit there idling it start making a clunking noise after sitting there for a while. Once i start going it stops and then might or might not start again. That clunking sounds like its coming from the front of the car (i.e. engine bay maybe?). Anyone else expericing this? Glad to hear that its not just me on the bumps though.

I used to get a clunking noise on my front passenger side under heavy braking and turning. Took it into and they replaced the control arm and the noise has gone away ... put your car on a lift and check you aluminum control arms, struts, sway bar, end links and other suspension components ... but your car is new so it could be some other problem.
