Yet another Muellerized... Stage 1 review
*Note: short version availible at the bottom of the post*
Yo everyone,
So, two weeks ago I realized that my tires were in dire need of changing. Ok, so i've known that for a while, but I finally had the money two weeks ago to do something about it. And after much deliberation, I decided on Proxies 4 instead of the RT-615's or some used stock Advans. The tires were a great choice since they provided MUCH better tire wear and much better wet performance than the stockers and I primarily use my car for commuting (for now). Oh and the ride quality was WAY better right off the bat.
So tire review asside, I also knew I needed an alignment since my stock alignment loved to drive on a 2" contact patch on the inside of the tires. Weeee. My first choice to call was Road Race Chassis since they were the only people I knew of in the OC, CA area that did quality alignments. Well, I gave them a call and got scheduled in 2 days later. Very nice. I was also asked on the phone if I planned on getting a stage 1 upgrade sometime soon because they just got their rear sway bars back in stock. Hmmmm... Well, I got the cash so... why not? I told him yes and then set out to convince the wifers that I *needed* this extra cost. Some how I did. I cant give details because I really dont know what I did right.
But anyways... I got the stage 1 upgrade done (along with a full driveline fluid flush) on my brand spankin new Proxies 4. And wow. I retained the nice smooth ride quality of the tires. Niceee. And I retained as much if not more grip than I had on the stock tires/stock alignment setup. Double niceeee. And my turn in and handling only went down a marginal amount. And the understeer has been replaced with total neutrality in the turns... Orgasmic.
So to anyone in the pacific time zone with ~$540 burning a hole in their pocket, visit RRC and get the stage 1 package. Seriously, it's that awesome.

Having a car setup and decently aligned, whether it's mueller, robi, or anyone with half a clue, is one of the best things you can do for this car.
Please dont take it to bubba on the corner offering 29.95 alignments, or expect it to be worse than when it went in.
Always glad to hear anytime people spend $$$$ on suspension and real handling over other crap. Makes me almost tingly
