Spacers were used but as far as the size....the box for the spacers says everything in Japanese. I would say they are less than half an inch....

The offset determines the size of the hoops matched to the center piece of the wheel, but won't necessarily determine the thickness of the spokes and the back spacing from the mounting suface of the center piece to the back side of the spokes at the given radius where they meet the calipers. There are minimum requirements that must be met for a wheel to be certified by various sanctioning bodies as well as what the manufacturer deems necessary for strength.

Another answer to the "who not different offset and now spacers" question is this - by the design and manufacturing process of the CCW wheels, the center sections can only have a certain amount of offset built into them (horizontal distance from hub mounting face to where they bolt to the rim sections). If you notice, every CCW you see, no matter the size or offset, the center section is pretty flat. Due to the machining/design, they can't get enough clearance behind the spokes without spacers. . .
