generic brake question
i have a good handle on why brakes can be cross drilled and slotted... it was origionally for letting certain vapors out between the brake pad and disk. they dont make brake pads from the same stuff they did at one point, so the vapors are no long an issue.
here is the question. without needing the crossdrillin' and slottin' in the brakes, is it really a good idea to get them? will they do nothing more than have a cheese-grater effect on your brake pad? i know it wont destroy them right off, cause they are on a lot of modded cars.
just a question maybe someone out there that knows more about it than i know could explain.

they holes and slots are like counter sunk so it dont give you that cheese grater efect your thinking
it dont reall yent vapor it pulls in air to coll the disk so you get less disk warping
