haha yes. Depends if I go broke trying to compliance the ****!
Anyway I always thought old Type C and Competitions were the same. The RS have replaceed these rims and only come in Anthracite and Bronze.
The NEW Type Cs only go up to 16" Unless you get the Type C Euro version which only comes in silver. hahahah Fuggin confusing!!

Type C was the JDM wheel, Competition was the USDM wheel. There were differences in colors (gold, polished lip or not, etc), some claimed quality although that has never been proven, and possibly sizes. Actual differences are negligible. Speedstar went under for a little while, but came back, now they are calling them the Type C for the RS.
Either way, these are the wheels I have been wanting since they first came out. I think that size should fit fine. I would love to see pics of them on your car! Good choice.

Yeah Value is right. The RS is a 2 piece. The face and the inner rim are made separately. The face uses semi solid forging and the inner rim spin forged and heat treated.

These wheels are very light, and look really good... but.. They aren't the strongest wheels. They bend pretty easily, their used a lot on race cars because they are so light, and it doesnt matter if they bend, cause they can afford to swap them whenever..
Definatly a really nice wheel, but NOT the best choice for a daily driver.. of course YMMV.

Just placed an order from Gruppe-s on a set of Type-C RS 18x8.5 +33mm. The Tanabe/SSR site for the specs is here http://202.164.225.248/lineup/ssr/ty...ec/18inch.html
From what I was explained by the guys at Gruppe-s, Type-C RS is a 2-piece design, much stronger, a little heavier than the SSR comp. Old SSR comp are super light and great for racing. Type-C RS is stronger and it's designed for daily driving. The wheel is 100% gunmetal or bronze without polished lips. Shouldn't need a spacer. Type-C's RS are 17 and 18 inches, Type-C's are 15 and 16 inches.
I did a calculation on the possibility of installing a 18x9.5. It turned out to be just less than 1 inches out towards the fender well compared with stock wheels, and 18x8.5 is about 10mm out towards the fender well copmared with stock wheels. I took the safe route even though 18x9.5 should look a lot more agreesive.
Tire Rack only carries SSR that comes through the US distributorship. They don't have the Type-C RS that will fit EVOs yet. (Checked today) The only EVO Type-C RS's so far are coming directly from Japan. (based on my own finding, I can't be 100% sure)
The Japan SSR/Tanabe site has several pictures, but none are EVOs. Hope this helps.
