So now the question is why? What kinda of pads are you using? I see you run street tires, less braking perhaps?

I know the question isn't for me but just fyi. i run track tires and track pads. Nitto NT01s and i use PF01 fronts and PF97 rears. I've also used Project Mu level max 900 a couple times with them too. and i don't have any brake ducts either.

It's weird that there have been such drastic differences in wear on the PF rotors. I'd be very interested in knowing what pads people were running.

Nils, what pads did you go through.

Kyle and others with cracking, what pads did you use.

I've always leaned toward the PF's but you can't argue with that photo.

It probably has more to do with the tracks they visit. Us midwesterners have a bunch of tracks that are hard on brakes. 145mph braking at Road America will bring nearly any rotor to its knees.

Does Racing Brake still require that you use only Hawk brake pads and otherwise they won't warranty them? They used to have that disclaimer on their website and there was a good amount of feedback on their rotors just not working at all (among other things) when used with anything else.

Hopefully that's changed.

My PF two piece rotors are holding up fine, but have only seen one day of severe track duty.

On the street, they make the expected whirring sound when slowing the car down. Unfortunately, I'm also getting a similar slight rotor/pad noise while just driving down the road. The noise is louder when I veer a little left and right. Has anyone else gotten this noise with the PF two piece rotors?

I put PFs on this year and have 5 days on them. They have just a hair of heat checking starting on them from my last event where I was braking from 140ish twice a lap. DTC pads. I'm adding ducting before my next event.

Last year I had problems warping stock rotors at VIR in 1 event, but the PFs seem to be holding out fine.

When it does come time to replace the PFs, can you just bolt on a new ring? How does that work?
