TEIN Mono Flex -- Feedback

I did a search and some reading and came with some old posts with pretty much no information other than they were coming to the US sometime middle of last year.

Is anyone now currently running these and what is your feedback? I'm not talking the regular flex but the MONO flex.

Thanks

In have the Tein Mono Flex, i was the first guy in the UK to get it

Its been on the car now since the middle of last year, its very good for track work and on smooth roads, but on back roads its simply too stiff, even on the softest setting. The ABS locks the brakes and the car bounces around corners, making it quite a dangerous drive, although your back roads might not be as bumpy as we have here in the UK

oh yeah, make sure you get some extension bars on the 'C' spanners and really tighten them up well, i had a front coil start to unwind itself, and i've heard it happen to other people too with the earlier normal 'Flex' suspension.

I'd give it 8/10 for track use and smooth raod use, 1/10 for back roads.

For the european market they are springed with 9/7. I have tested these (mono flex) on track driving conditions and they worked well. Im still going to get stiffer springs (12/9?) for them to see if I can get even better results.

We have run the Mono flex on the Subarus here we have not had a chance to get them on a evo yet. All the evos here already have super racings.

We have seen a nice increase in performance over the standard flex. I would say these are the prefect bet for the weekend track warrior that has to go to the grocery store on the way home.

Yes the EVO rates are 14/10

The subaru rates are 10/7

The 14/10 should make for a really flat handling front end without the need of upgrading the front sway bar. I could not give you any insight into the comfort of them on the street.

The valving on the subaru is very nice.

My Ohlin setup has 12kg/16kg springs, and I drive my car daily. Don't let 10/14 scare you.

thanks for the feedback guys. oh by the way, I notice the ohlins setup you have has stiffer spring in the back, and most other C/O have stiffer spring rate in the front, what is the benefit of having stiffer rate in rear like stock setup?

I have these installed on my lightly modded IX for about a month now and I really enjoy them not only as an agressive daily driver but also on the track (drag and road course) Adjusting the dampening from underneath the front struts isn't that convenient but easy enough without jacking up the car. I've ran teins on my SRT-4 and a RSX-S for awhile and these are the best yet and compliment this car.

Can I reverse the spring rate 10F/14R? or choose any other spring rate? what would you suggest?
