Steering wheel slack @ 93k miles

Ok, so my car has 93k on it and really the only thing other than the struts that's showing high mileage wear currently is the steering. I purchased some new outer tie rod ends but then spoke to a few people who recommended changing out the inner tie rod ends.

I Haven't really put too much time into identifying the problem lately as I've been busy with other Evos. I was able to trace the slac/movement all the way down the column going into the steering rack the last time I was having the car aligned.

Basically just have about 1-2cm play in the wheel which considering the car's super tight steering ratio actually translates into a lot of wheel play for an Evo. I guess this was a super gradual problem as I didn't notice it until I had another car on the highway and was reminded of just how tight our steering really is.

In short it's depressing me and I'm looking for some feedback from others with this issue/high mileage Evos.

Thanks,
mitsuorder

Whiteline Steering precision kit may help, as your bushings may be worn out. 93k miles isn't that much, but these do firm the steering noticeably.

Any results?

I'm looking to improve the steering feel and turn-in, and was wondering if the Cusco Lower Arm Bar I, Lower Arm Bar II or the Whiteline Steering Precision Kit would be a better choice.

Does anyone here have any experience with these products? How did they affect handling? I was thinking of getting the Cusco LAB I and LAB II installed together instead of sway bars as my car already has a tendency to oversteer.

Forgot to update Had a tiny bit of thread left in the bolt clamping the steering column to the steering rack input shaft. That was the real culprit in my situation. Although I did install Whiteline kit provided by Andrew @ GTWORX and wowsas! The evo's steering feel is pretty near impossible to top but these bushings really do give you more of a progressive feel when getting silly in the twisties at all speeds. The first week you will notice a considerable amount of vibration translated through the steering column but after they break in a bit it's smooth sailing

Btw I run this kit along with the Carbign 6 point underbrace.
