riley.....
Riley, I don't know if you can speak for all rim manufacturers but is this a standard? Same molds but just different backpads? Thanks.

which wheels you asking about?

for example. wheels like works multipiece stuff they actually use slightly different molds for their bbk backpadded disks..

the monoblock wheels (emotion line) use same faces.. for each size.

i.e. how all the 18x10 XD9 have the 73mm lip and how all the 18x9 xd9 have the 45mm lip. etc. etc.

Just wanted to bump this thread to get a few answers...I just received my work emotion cr kai 18x9.5 +30 for all 4 wheels. I was told I would only need 5mm spacers up front to clear the brembos? Also based on what I have read here I should require less fender rolling in the rear due to the higher offset?? I also have a spare set of 5mm spacers should I put them in the rear also??? Any positive info will be appreciated thanks!

higher offset means less spindle. less spindle means spokes closer to brakes

I would think if your point was to get the +30 offset to fit the wheels easier in the rear, that putting the 5mm spacer on the rear wouldn't be the way to go.

I'm still waiting for my +20 front/ +30 rear set to come in, probably a few more weeks. But I really want to see what kind of work it'll take to get them to fit with the 275 tires.

That car made me get those rims. I really wanted to get the 9.5's but I didn't want to deal with all the rubbing and running a stretched tire and stuff. It took me about 2 hours to finally give up and decide but I ended up going with the 8.5's w/ +30 offset. They definitely don't look as raw but I love them. The CR's are definitely the SICKEST wheel to have in 9.5 they look crazy.

actually the spokes on the +38 to +12 wheels are NOT the same. As the offset goes lower, the spokes do get more concave, even within the same width

IE - the 18x9.5 +20 wheels have slightly less concavity than 18x9.5 +12

INFO IS WRONG, if u want real info. call WORK USA!

anything 17x9 is all the same face. (it even says it in kanji, that 17x9 offsets are the deep concave face)

It wont make sense to work, if they have to make 4 differ molds to change 10mm of back pad of the wheel. I dont know the price of there molds. but to make 4 different wheels with offsets would be pretty expensive. My guess is about 20000~50000 dollars for a mold.

When simply they can just make a mold with a bigger back pad, and all they have to do is cut down the rear wheel part of the wheel, where it mounts to the hub of the car, to any offset they please.

now if you run a 18inch wheel. if u check out that chart, the 2nd row says (semi deep face) and the 3rd row says (deepest face) so for 18inch watch for your concave listing.

done.

here is what 18x9.5 +20 looks like for those interested (rear). Front was 18x8.5 +20

I did eventually switch to 18x9.5 +12 out back, but never had them on long enough to snap pics

The spokes looked different to me, but perhaps it was just the fact that they were sitting closer to the body than previously that made the difference...oh well, they are no longer on the car now
