Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1
Neal,
Any word on the Z1's? What tread rating are they expected to be? 140?
All media indicates a 2nd qtr. release date. April?
What sizes are being offered early? 245/40/18?
Dave

Originally they were to be available in 17 sizes, beginning in second quarter of 2007. Recent word is the ETA to North America has been pushed back. We initially thought spring, but it's now looking like late summer. I do not know specific sizes or pricing at this time.

I'm loving the tread pattern, pretty aggressive. Are you guys going to conduct a performance comparison test on it?
Anyone else buy these tires and have any input?

I've got them and they seem to be very grippy on street/highway. I don't track the car so I wouldn't be able to tell you how they are with that. I've still yet to try them out when it's raining and I'll post a follow up afterwards.

Are they pretty wide tires? I have yokohamas on the front and they are extremely wide compared to other brands like falken. My 275 yokos are as wide as my 295 falkens.
Ever going to make a 275 width Z1 or should I just go with the RT615?

I received a set today and will be testing them in the coming weeks. We'll see how they perform compared to the 2 best existing street tires; the Bridgestone RE01r and the Yokohama Advan Neova ADO7.
Preliminary data so far for 245/40 -17 size:
- Z1 tread width 9.5", 26.4 lb.
- Bridgestone RE01 is about 9.0" (if shaved down using more of the angled sides)
- Neova 9.5"
Preliminary data so far for 245/40 -17 size:
- Z1 tread width 9.5", 26.4 lb.
- Bridgestone RE01 is about 9.0" (if shaved down using more of the angled sides)
- Neova 9.5"
