this is normal for me...i'm lowered on swifts and running the same tire size...i had to roll the rears a little bit but the fronts i didn't touch. it really depends on the type of tire as well. I know a couple guys that run 235/40/18 on falken rt-615 and have absoultely no problem with that setup. anything wider you'll have to roll a fender or two.

guys,

not all 245/40/18s tires are created equal. certain brands's 245s will have more square edge on their tires so they are a bit wider.

When you are experiencing slight rubbing, the best way to do is slightly roll your rear fenders to avoid this type of issues.

If you are inexperience about rolling fenders, you should bring it to an experienced bodyshop.

good luck!

ahh the front fender lining.. in this case, removing it will be your best bet. You don't want it to keep rubbing and over time, the lining will just shredded off and it will be costly to replace.

I got em on today and they rub the inside fender liner. Any way to fix this without taking them off???

Tires are BFgoodrich KDW II 245/40/18
Rims are advan rs 18x9

That size is a little larger diameter then stock, they may be to tall. Where exactly in the wheel well is it rubbing? My tires (245/45/17) rubbed at full left lock on the right side only; right side fender well has less clearance BTW. My 275/40/17s rub even more but it's not hurting anything, I just used the tires to grind away the fender liner then took a dremel and cut around the areas of the rub marks. Now it’s basically quite.

You will here a lot of people state a certain tire/wheel combo will not rub and another with same tire and wheel say they do. Guess what, all those you said there would be no rubbing were either lying or hard of hearing

It is the BFgoodrich KDW II tires I have seen mutiple EVo with 18s and stock height rub with BFgoodrich tires although the size may be the same there tires tend to be beefier Compare your 245 40 18 tite to Mich PS2 and u will see diffrence.

I think it's the 40 that's the problem. I ran 255/35 KDW's and only on the rare occasion would it rub. Stock suspension.

now I have 255/40 and they rub.

My suggestion is to run a small spacer up front, like a 3mm or something. I dont think you will have any issues with the fender it self (the actual sheetmetal) as many people run much more aggresive offsets. So that will take you to a +26 up front. No biggie. That should move the wheel out enough away from the lining I would think.

For the record I currently run 245/45/17 RT-615s which are said to be a "wide" tire and I do not rub at all, and I am lowered on GF-210s. This may be helpful info for others reading this if not for you. Can't wait to check your rims out at AMS DC!

When you lower a car it brings in the camber a lot.....maybe the added camber in the front helps with the tires not rubbing as much. Everyone I see running 245/40's is lowered and they have no problems at all....

How are spacers going to stop the tire from hitting the wheel liner?
