The lightweight rims are flagged as lightweight. They qualify light as 1lb. per inch of diameter IIRC. Unfortunately they only break down by diameter and don't get into widths as much. I think that rims in multiple diameters may also be listed once under one diameter, so you may have to look at other rims besides 17".

yeah, i really want those velox rims too. just don't have the fundage. they would fit perfectly on the us spec lancer though.
STOCK RIM WEIGHT
i know this, because i just shipped mine out. 38lbs rim AND tire. granted the rims were only 15", so they would be a lighter than a 17", i don't think our stock rims were so light. i'm guessing 20-23 lbs a piece, just for the rim. those suckers weren't very light.

ez - I think its the latest... Shiv hooked up this boost line, which looks like it actually bleeds boost off, so the factory boost controller doesnt see as much boost. Therefore the actual boost is slightly higher. Kind of a rinky dink boost controlling solution if you ask me (shiv, you didnt hear that hehe)
Shiv did tune the boost curve for me. I see 1.5 bar in the midrange, and it slowly tapers down to around around 1.3 I think... Its hard for me to hold my boost guage and mob my car. I dont have a place to mount it yet....

For our Evo...I chose Volk CE28N's. Under 17 pounds for an 18 x 8.5" wheel. Plus, I think they're gorgeous.
Remember that the Evo has some special wheel needs. First, you have to have spokes that will clear the really big calipers. Second, the offset is very low -- the wheels I ordered will be 30mm offset. Third, they're WIDE. Velox, for example, doesn't offer any 8" or 8.5" wheels that'll fit up. (I spoke to them today.) Many of the manufacturers of light wheels -- Centerline is one -- make 7" or 7.5" widths only, and that's too narrow.
Manufacturers who make wheels to fit the Evo, that I know of:
- Volk (made by Ray's)
- Prodrive (also made by Ray's)
- SSR
- OZ
That's all that come to mind. I'm sure there are some more out there, but I've checked with several of the more common manufacturers, and many fail either the clearance, offset, or width criteria...
You can always get one custom made by a place like Fikse/HRE/Kinesis. But that gets very expensive.
