Nitto Invo Review [pics]
I received my new wheels and tires last week and it's time for a small review:
I'm not tire expert. I just like to drive like everyone else.
At a glance, the sidewall looks like that of a drag radial. The tread pattern is very unusual.
On extremely hard turns and some turns that have bumps or sudden banks that compress the suspension, the front wheels to rub a little. I'm not sure what they rub at this point. I see no visible rub on the outer sidewall. I am thinking it may actually be rubbing the plastic fenderwell (lowered on tein springs)
18x8 30 offset wheels
245/40/ZR18 Nitto Invo
The tires are sticky sticky sticky. I have yet to make them squeal and I've been taking on/off ramps pretty hard when the roads have been desolate. They hold very well and are very sure footed in turns.
I don't know if it's me, the fat that I'm runing a 245/40 on an 8" wide wheel, the fact that I have been driving on snow tires up until today, but the initial steering response feels a little soft. I'm thinking my larger-than-normal sidewall may be offering a little too much flex and soaking up some of the initial bite. I am wondering what it'd be like on a 235...if the sidewall offers less flex.
I am hoping to go to my first track day on May 24th so I may have a further review after that.

Interesting. I wonder how these go up against RT615s. Looks sticky since you got rocks and what not on them already. My Azenis dont get rocks unless I am doing some serious driving. Looking forward to your review if you go to the track.

The car looks good, D. Congratuation on your first track day! You will have a lot of fun. You may wanna fix that rubbing issue before you hit the track just to play safe..The soft steering feel you mentioned has a lot to do w/ the fact that stock advans are very stiff.
Which track are you going? Also, check your PM later.

I almost ordered those the other day but decided to go with the 255/40ZR-17 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2s... They are going on 17X9 JICs so I'm hoping now that the sidewalls on these are stiff. I hate loose sidewalls. Its like loose women...
