You are going to have to take them to court to get it covered. They will argue that you asked them to do it and you were not specific enough about what you needed done. Do you have anything in writing?

Ok...so take a straight edge across the mating surface and check if the surface is still flat. A piece of glass works best for this. As long as the surface is completely flat you should be ok. I have refinished a few calipers now and I dont break them down completely. It's not necessary. A high quality clear coat like Dupont's Chroma Clear will outlast the car!
