wheel shake

I have slight wheel shake at high speeds. I just got some new 18 with new tires on my EVO 8 with anodized lug nuts. The lugs seem to get loose after awhile, but cant tell if its the rim or the lugs that makes it shake at high speeds.

It sounds like you need to have them rebalanced. As far as the lugs, make sure you use a torque wrench and torque them to spec.

Have them high speed balanced. Only certain shops have a machine that can spin a wheel fast enough to balance them for high speeds.

I wouldn't recommend using Loctite for lugs. If you torque them to spec (around 75 ft. lbs.) you should be fine.

There is also the possiblity that if you are not running hub-centric rings with the wheels you may get a vibration from that too.

You should be able to get them from the place you purchased your wheels from.
If not any reputable wheel shop should be able to get them for you.

No. With after market wheels you'll need hub centric rings.

DO NOT USE LOCTITE on your lug nuts!!! Rebalance the wheel and make sure all the lugnuts are properly torqued to 73-78ft.lb of torque ...

i am not sure if the mb motorsports require a hubcentric ring. to check take the center cap off of the wheel and see if there is a tight fit. as for the lug nuts coming off, after you put aftermarket wheels on you need to re tourqe the lug nuts after 50 miles

I would pick up some hub ring...then get them high speed balance then torque your lugs at 75lbs...and if that doesnt work check the inside of your tires it could be a split in the inner tires. I had that problem when I bought used rims for my 996.....Good luck!

Went to tire shop today. The rims are hub centric, but one of them was slightly warp making the front shake. I put it in the rear, but there is still a slight wobble but not as noticeable.
