clicking noise

i already searched this topic and found alot of possibilities such as wheel bearing, tie rod end or maybe a bad cv boot. i hear a clicking while driving but i can hardly hear it in the drivers seat but in the passenger seat i hear it very well and it sounds like the right front. i happens under straight lines for sure but i wasnt pating attention while turning. if it is something like what i mentioned above will it be covered under the factory warranty even though i bought the car used from a non-mitsu dealership and with the mods in my sig? i was hoping it might be since the mods dont have anything to do with the suspension, i have 40k on it and its an 05. if anyone has answers im really in need. thanks alot and sorry for the kinda long post lol

Well your past your 3/36 warranty. I forgot what mitsu's drivetrain warranty is, but i know the powertrain is 5/60. If whatever the problem is falls under the powertrain or the drivetrain you should be covered unless they want to void it cause of the mods. Then youll end up as customer pay and pay a diag fee and what not if you wanna get it fixed. Look at it first b4 you take it in. Check the brakes for any debris, or look at your suspension. Just browse around, tinker with things, you may find the cause. If it were your CV joint, you would hear it while turning most likely. Tie rods, ehh mostly over bumps. You can check it by moving the wheel side to side while jacked up. If the wheel bearing is bad it would be more of a howl. Move the wheel up and down while the car is still up in the air. Well good luck, Hope it works out!

Sounds like the front passenger side CV boot has gone bad (my guess). The original owner gets 5yr/50K mile warranty bumper to bumper. After that only power train is covered (engine and tranny). 2nd owner only get 3yr/36K mile warranty on the car. Sounds like you are SOL ... you'll have buy a new CV joint.

CV joint should be part of the powertrain. it is called "other powertrain components"

Wasn't sure if CV joint fell into that ... I know engine and powertrain does ... also the 2nd owner only gets 5yr/50K miles engine and powertrain warranty.

I just checked my 06 warranty manual. I don't know if it is the same as the 05's.
